I didn’t always call myself intuitive, or think of myself as an artist. First, I had to unlearn — a.k.a. heal — some beliefs about myself. I thought that feeling everything so deeply was a weakness. I didn’t feel like I “fit” in this world most of the time.
During a tough time in my life, I was journaling and feeling desperate, hopeless and alone. Before I knew what was happening, my hand had written, “Please just trust me, and I will take care of you.” I wanted to remember that moment, so I created a piece of art to remind me of those words and that feeling — and thus, The Art of You was born.
That was the beginning of me truly surrendering to a power greater than me (I call it God). I’m still in the daily tug-of-war between me trying to control everything, and surrendering to the one who has the beautiful, perfect vision for everything and everyone.
Surrendering my control to God’s way has only brought the most beautiful things into my life. I get to love an amazing and supportive partner, Paul, and a beautiful daughter who is growing into an amazing young woman. I get to talk to beautiful and inspiring people every single day.
